Israel@60 videocollective
Tel Aviv@100 videocollective
The
26th of October 1984, the first videocollective was organized in Israel
by Natan Karczmar at the occasion of Artcom Israel 84, a symposium on
the Esthetics of communication held at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem,
the Haifa Museum and tzavta Tel Aviv.
Since then, Natan Karczmar
has organized videocollectives in many countries and more recently, in
2002, a partnership has been established with the International
Videoformes Festival in Clermont Ferrand, France, were the
videocollectives produced in the world are shown each year during the
March festival. Videoformes has also become a permanent archive for
these videos.
The videocollectives have a duration of 3 minutes
of footage and 10 seconds of titles. The videomaker is free to film any
subject whenever and wherever he or she wishes. The manner is either
experimental (video art), documentary, fiction, animation, or a mixing
of these styles. The format is DV.
A the occasion of the 25th
anniversary in 2009 of the first videocollective, videomakers are
invited to participate at either one or both of Israel@60 videocollective and Tel Aviv@100 videocollective.
It is organized in partnership with the Tel Aviv Cinematheque where the
video must be sent or deposited when ready but no later than January
2nd 2009 for presentation during April as well as at the Videoformes
Festival in March. After that, the Tel Aviv@100 videocollective will
continue during all of 2009.
